Story of a Build

This RD400F arrived completely disassembled in several boxes and plastic tubs.

Here is the engine crankshaft, removed from the seized engine.

There was metal debris contamination throughout the engine. Here you can see that the oil passages to the main bearings were completely obstructed.

The crankcase needs to be thoroughly cleaned and then inspected for possible additional damage.

Here are the engine parts cleaned and ready for reassembly.

This is how it should look just before bolting the cases back together.

The cylinder head awaits cleaning and polishing.

The head is now polished and ready to install.

The speedometer has been completely refurbished. It looks really good compared to before.

The wiring harness on the bike was in poor condition. Much electrical work lies ahead.
